2012 NFL Free Agents: Why Peyton Manning Would Be Biggest FA Ever
You only have to look at the Indianapolis Colts record in 2011 to know how great Peyton Manning has been throughout his career.
In Manning's first season off the field, the Colts went 2-14, tied for the worst record in the NFL.
In Manning's 13 seasons with the Colts, they went to the playoffs 11 times. This was despite never having a dominant defense or running game.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
There have been several notable free-agent signings throughout the NFL's history. Drew Brees, Reggie White, Deion Sanders and Shannon Sharpe come to mind.
But what Manning has been able to do at the most important position in football without much talent around him has been amazing. Some believed he should have won the MVP this past season just because the Colts' slide demonstrated how valuable Manning truly was to the organization.
There are obviously questions about Manning's health. He's reportedly had four neck surgeries in the past two years and there's no telling how he'll be able to hold up for a full season. But if he's able to come back at close to 100 percent and dominate the way he has throughout his career, Manning has the ability to single-handedly lead a team on a championship run.
Because with Manning, you can have a decent team and become a very good team in no time. That's why teams such as the Miami Dolphins, Washington Redskins, Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals can't be taken lightly with Manning on board, despite their dismal records in 2011.
Manning is an 11-time Pro Bowler, four-time MVP and Super Bowl champion. Beyond that, he's a sure-fire future Hall of Famer.
If Manning's healthy, don't underestimate what he can do, even at 35 years of age. Those teams that underestimate Manning could get burned in the end.
