WWE News: The Latest Update on Shaquille O'Neal Wrestling at WrestleMania 28

Chris HumphreyJun 3, 2018

Shaquille O'Neal will not be making a pit stop in Miami on April 1st for WrestleMania 28.

This morning, the WWE shot the rumor down that the four-time NBA champion, Shaquille O’Neal, will be participating in a match at WrestleMania despite what the NBA legend said this past weekend.

Despite Shaquille O’Neal’s claim that he will compete at WrestleMania XXVIII in Miami, WWE officials have informed WWE.com that the 15-time NBA All-Star is not scheduled to appear on the card.

"

Over the years, celebrity involvement has been a staple of WrestleMania as the WWE's biggest event has seen stars ranging from Mike Tyson to Run DMC to Kim Kardashian among others over the past 27 years.

Although it’s great to see celebrities at the event, I think it’s a bad idea to have a celebrity involved in a match against a WWE superstar at WrestleMania, as it should be saved for actual matches.

Even though the involvement of a celebrity in a match gets a lot of publicity for the WWE, I would at least have a celebrity that has some athletic ability unlike Snooki who was a part of the six-person tag team match at WrestleMania 27.

If I were a part of the WWE, I would love to have different celebrities be a part of WrestleMania but just wouldn’t have them get in the ring at the biggest professional wrestling event of the year.

So Bleachers, do you even care that Shaq will not be a part of WrestleMania this April with the great card coming into place for the event this April?
