WWE Elimination Chamber 2012 Results: John Cena's Stock Soars as The Rock Looms
After two months of terrible storytelling, betraying his best friend and one mediocre match at the Royal Rumble, John Cena was able to put all of that behind him with a nice performance against Kane at the Elimination Chamber.
Just in the nick of time, too, since he has a pretty big match with The Rock coming up in six weeks at some event called WrestleMania.
While there were a truckload of problems surrounding this Kane storyline, at least now it is over and it ended exactly the way it should have. Cena sent him straight to hell with an attitude adjustment off the top of an ambulance.

Cena needed to build some positive momentum, because The Rock is going to be THE focal point of Raw for the next six weeks. He is going to be making weekly television appearances, starting on Feb. 27.
WWE is going to sell this match like the biggest in the history of the sport, which it could easily end up being. But the only way to get there is make Cena look like a star on the same level as Rock, which is not something that has been done lately.
Now, Cena can put the last two months behind him. He can kick-start his feud with Rock tonight by cutting a promo on the Great One, though hopefully it will be better than those lame raps he did last year that made him look like a dork.
The best part about the Elimination Chamber match with Kane is that WWE didn't feel the need to follow up with the whole "embrace the hate" aspect.
First, that was such a stupid idea for WWE to construct a storyline around. But more important that, we all knew that Cena was never going to turn heel. That was a huge flaw in the storytelling in this feud.
Cena doesn't need to be a heel, or an edgy babyface, to wrestle Rock. He is going to get booed out of the building in Miami on April 1 anyway.
WWE did the right thing by just having Cena destroy Kane, and now we can let the feud with Rock really amp up starting tonight.
