WWE Elimination Chamber 2012 Results: Early Exit for R-Truth Very Predicable

R-Truth is getting stale and the WWE creative team has to do something quick.

While the Elimination Chamber may only be the prelude to WrestleMania, R-Truth’s quick exit makes you wonder just where his character is heading after another short PPV stint.

Truth was a contestant in the WWE Championship match alongside CM Punk, Kofi Kingston, Dolph Ziggler, the Miz and Chris Jericho, considered the “main event” of the night.

He was the first guy to bow out despite entering the match after Punk, Kofi and Ziggler.

Truth came out incredibly aggressive with a quick hip-toss to Ziggler, making him fall fairly hard onto the steel floor. Yet Punk quickly took control of the situation by giving him a superplex, which was the beginning of the end for Truth. Punk, who had the time to taunt Jericho on the top of the turnbuckle, then drilled Truth with a flying elbow, and that was all she wrote as Punk eliminated R-Truth.

So what’s next for a guy that looked to be on the fast-track to stardom but has now taken a backseat to almost all of the top stars?

In theory, R-Truth could have been protected by the creative team because of the serious injury he almost endured on RAW back on Feb. 6 . He was a few inches away from being hospitalized for weeks.

Yet his lack of broken bones or another lingering injury suggests he was just fine Sunday night.

The creative team seems to be on the ledge on whether Truth is a worthy superstar or more of just a second banana-type character that will never truly break through to superstardom. I think the first thing that needs to happen is to put some distance between him and Miz.

The combo is boring at this point and R-Truth needs his own storyline to truly evolve in the company.

I’m personally a fan of Truth. He is one of the best pure wrestlers in the sport and is a dynamic personality. But with the way things have been going lately, I’m beginning to lose faith in Truth.

Time for a heel turn or some sort of drastically different storyline, because, right now, he’s going nowhere fast.
