WWE Elimination Chamber 2012: Who Should Win the Main Event Matches and Why
WWE's Elimination Chamber matches are always unpredictable and brutal, which is why we love them. The two main event matches are for the championship belts of Raw and Smackdown and the combatants are some of the who's-who of the WWE.
What makes tonight's PPV more intriguing is the fact that WWE's 2012 Royal Rumble winner Sheamus has yet to decide on which title he will go after at Wrestlemania XXVIII. Who comes out on top in the Elimination Chamber matches may just allow a peek into the direction that the WWE is going to go for their grandest show of them all, coming on April 1.

Who should win the Elimination Chamber matches? Let me look at both contests starting with the WWE Monday Night Raw Supershow match.
C.M. Punk defends his title against The Miz, R-Truth, Kofi Kingston, Dolph Ziggler and Chris Jericho.
No disrespect to Kofi Kingston, because I love him as a wrestler, but there is no way that the WWE brass will let him leave the Elimination Chamber as the champ. There have been no development to his mic skills and just when you think that he might get that push that he has earned, there is always something that doesn't work quite right. That is all I will say there.
Not too many people want to see another wasted C.M. Punk versus Dolph Ziggler match and The Miz is still feuding with R-Truth so I do not see either of them winning until that feud ends. This leaves C.M. Punk and Chris Jericho as the favorites to win the match.
I'm going with Jericho because he has been a great heel in the past and C.M. Punk is a top draw regardless if he is the WWE Champion or not. This would shape up for a triple-threat match at Wrestlemania XXVIII because I see Sheamus as a Raw wrestler exclusively. Also, there are no potential tantalizing matchups for him in the Smackdown Elimination Chamber match.
Daniel Bryan defends his title against Cody Rhodes, The Big Show, The Great Khali, Wade Barrett, and Santino Marella.
Why are both The Big Show and Great Khali in this match? And when is the WWE brass going to stop shoving big, slow-moving wrestlers down our throats?
As a fan, I am ashamed at how the WWE promotes the "immovable objects", there is no place for them in this match and I can think of at least 10 other superstars that were more deserving to be in this main event (Drew McIntyre, Justin Gabriel and David Otunga to name a few),The only way to create more superstars is by having the "indestructable forces" to take a backseat in matches like the Elimination Chamber.
That said, I believe the WWE should do something right for a change and put the title on Santino Marella.
Why? Because he has peaked as a fan favorite and his underdog personality could mesh with any wrestler on the WWE roster. This was done before with Rey Mysterio, and it worked to perfection making him a household name.
