WWE News: CM Punk Sports Surprising New Look (with Video)

For the longest time that we've known CM Punk as a WWE superstar—or as a wrestler for that matter—he's had some kind of facial hair.

From the moment he debuted in 2006, he's at the very least had some chin 'stache or stubble.

More often than not, though, he's sported a scraggly, disheveled beard to complement the bags under his eyes. Nevertheless, somehow—someway—Punk has beguiled wrestling fans in spite of parading around as a haggard-looking insomniac.

Yet, something so extraordinary occurred this past Tuesday, February 14, that not even CM Punk himself can sufficiently explain.

According to the WrestlingNewsSource.com,"The Straight Edge" superstar has done a complete about-face.

No, he hasn't suddenly given into temptation and turned to drugs and alcohol; instead, he's picked up a straight-edged razor and cleaned up his face with an exceedingly close shave (click here to see a larger picture). For a point of reference, the last time Punk's face was this smooth was probably right before puberty.

Not to mention, from his refreshed appearance, it seems as if he's finally caught up on years of sleep deprivation.

Interviewed by a news program called Real Milwaukee (click here to watch it), Punk has revealed that, although his decision to go beardless doesn't go as far back as preadolescence, it has nonetheless been a very long time:

""I haven't been this clean-shaven in like a decade. I did it when I got home, I think Tuesday, and I really don't have an explanation for you.""

There are two things we can take away from this—either Punk knows why he did it and is not telling us (i.e., it's storyline related), or it was simply a judgment call predicated on nothing except a whim.

While Punk's new look is probably personal hygiene-related, it would be intriguing to see him shed his antihero label for a suit and tie on WWE TV.

That being said, given how Punk has been a rousing success as a babyface of late, such a transition, if at all, would transpire far down the line.
