WWE: Chris Hero Makes FCW Debut with New Name, Diva Profiles Added to Website

Agent GreenJun 7, 2018

On February 16th, Chris Hero made his debut in the WWE developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling.

According to PWInsider.com, he had his first match in Tampa, losing to Xavier Woods, but ended his night with “laying [Woods] out” after the match, so I'm guessing that he is working as a heel. Chris reportedly “looked really good” in his first match.

His personal bio was recently added to FCW’s official Web site. But do not expect to see the name “Chris Hero” anywhere on that Web site, because WWE has changed his name.

New WWE Rumors 🤫

He is now known as “Kassius Ohno.”

While I am happy that the former Ring of Honor star, whose real name is Chris Spradlin, finally jumped on the road to appearing in a WWE ring, I am not fond of the new name.

Of course, this isn’t the first time that the WWE renamed a well-known talent coming in from a rival company. Spradlin’s tag team partner from ROH, Claudio Castagnoli, was renamed “Antonio Cesaro.”

Moreover, Bryan Danielson was renamed “Daniel Bryan,” Tyler Black was renamed “Seth Rollins” and Jon Moxley was renamed “Dean Ambrose.”

At least in the case of Danielson, his WWE name is just a reversal of his first and last names, similar to Michael Shawn Hickenbottom using the name Shawn Michaels.

But I fail to see the significance in Chris’ new name. “Kassius” almost reminds me of Cassius Clay, the birth name of Muhammad Ali. And I believe “Ohno” is a Japanese name. Besides Chris’ ties to Pro Wrestling Noah, I am clueless to what this name represents.

Nevertheless, I am hoping that Chris makes a big splash in FCW, despite the moniker that he uses. And like most fans, I want to see at least one Tag Team Championship reign from Chris and Claudio, who won several titles together on the independent scene.

In other FCW news, there are two new Diva profiles on the Web site.

Danielle Moinet, formerly of the Lingerie Football League, is now on the roster and goes by the name Summer Rae.

Also, Saraya-Jade Bevis, who wrestled in England as Britani Knight, is on the roster and has been given the name Paige.

The profiles of A.J. Lee, Aksana and Kaitlyn have been removed. These Divas are currently competing for the SmackDown roster.
