2012 NFL Mock Draft: Which Teams Will Trade Up to Land Robert Griffin III?

With Andrew Luck being a virtual lock to go to the Colts with the first pick, Robert Griffin III has become the hot prom queen of the 2012 draft. 

The Rams, who pick second overall, already have a quarterback, making Robert Griffin a hot prom queen without a date.

The question now is, who is willing to sacrifice the most and ask her out?

You never know what is going to happen in the draft, but you can be certain that the Rams are not going to be picking second overall. Some quarterback-needy team with the draft ammunition to move up is going to make a move to give their franchise a much-needed jolt at the most important position in American sports. 

There are several teams that high enough daft picks to make a competitive offer for Griffin. Which one of them has the best chance to land the most electrifying player in college sports?

Most Ammo: Cleveland Browns

The Browns hit the jackpot in the 2011 draft after their trade with the Falcons, who were beyond desperate for a new receiver. With two first-round picks, and one of them being fourth overall, those two picks alone should be enough to move up under normal circumstances. 

However, given the fierce competition they will see from other clubs, they may have to throw in a second- or third-round pick into the mix. Either way, they are the team that can most easily move up; it just depends on whether they want to forgo their whole "two first-round picks" perk. 

Most Desperate: Washington Redskins

Since Dan Snyder bought the team, the Redskins have been nothing but a desperate, mediocre team that has failed to contend. If it weren't for the irrational support from Redskins fans, they would struggle to sell tickets. 

If they can't land Peyton Manning, the Redskins simply have to make this deal work. It would cost them a lot, including a future first-round pick and maybe a player or two, but they have to make this deal. 

If they go into next season with Rex Grossman as their starter, they are destined for mediocrity. Another season without promise will doom Mike Shanahan and Bruce Allen era. Even if the Redskins draft RG3 and win three games, at least there will be some buzz and hope around a long-lost franchise. 

Would be a Colossal Mistake: Miami Dolphins

Owner Stephen Ross wants an exciting offense. Well, I want a free Bleacher Report sweatshirt, but just because we want something doesn't mean we get it. Just as it takes diligence and time to develop a writing career here at B/R, it takes patience to develop such a desirable offense.

Truth is, Matt Moore is a decent quarterback. They may try to trade for Matt Flynn (which an entire discussion in itself), but they need to see if Moore can win them enough games. When you take a step back, he was the second-best quarterback in the division, and we have seen what teams have done in the AFC East with elite defenses and second-best quarterbacks; just look at the 2009 and 2010 Jets.

Getting RG3 will ruin the Philbin era from the start; the team will be void of a lot of draft picks and possibly some key players. Give Moore a full year, and if he doesn't work out, then go get your stud. 

Winner: Cleveland Browns

In the end, it comes down to who has the most ammo. The Rams don't care who gets RG3; they just need to get as much value for the pick as possible.

The Browns have not had any excitement since Derek Anderson was chucking bombs to Braylon Edwards—yeah, it's time for a makeover for the Browns' offense. Unless the Skins or Dolphins get real desperate, the Browns are the only team that can afford the expensive limo for the 2012 draft prom queen.
