The time for masks is over. Chris Jericho has returned and he will prove to everyone—especially CM Punk—why he is the best in the world.

Nobody does it like he does, and that is why he is such a valuable asset to the WWE. He has come a long way since his "Lionheart" days of WCW. The first ever Undisputed Champion is a living legend in his own right; nobody can deny him that.

Note that the following slideshow serves to illustrate how Y2J is a top player deserving his spot and NOT a player vying for a top spot. Let's not get confused. 

Let's see now. Chris Jericho is up there with some others because...

He Is Part of a Dying Breed of Talent

When you think of Chris Jericho, you think of a guy who has been around for decades.

He is cut from that same fabric as The Rock, Stone Cold, The Undertaker and Triple H to name a few. They are a dying breed, the last of their kind if you will and the WWE will never be the same once they are all gone.

Men and women like that don't come along every day and their talent is easily noticeable and forever remembered.

The good old Attitude Era, with all its vulgarity, freedom and splendor, has long been sealed away, yet some of its legends remain today. Fans should get behind them without hesitation, and new Superstars should pay attention to everything they say or do.

Chris Jericho is worth his weight in gold. You demanded his return and got it...what will you do with it?

His in-Ring Skills Are Impeccable

Chris Jericho is a ring master. Not many hold a candle to him in the ring except perhaps all the ones from his younger time and CM Punk, which is why their pending feud will definitely be one of the best of the year.

WWE doesn't always place importance on characters who excel in the ring (Morrison, MVP, etc.) but it should because the fans are incredibly demanding and deep down, they know what they want. Good matches between experienced talent.

Y2J never fails to deliver and that is why he is so loved even if he is a despicable villain.

The key here is to learn from the best. Some young stars today need to pay attention to the master for though they are good, he is great. No, make that awesome!

His Mic Skills Are Flawless

Never underestimate this man.

He can have you eating out of his hand with but a thought. That is why he is the master. The proof came when he returned earlier this year, not saying a single word yet beautifully executing his plan. 

What is so amazing is the fact that, despite being labelled as "parasites" "hypocrites" and "neophytes" the entire WWE Universe goes nuts and cheers him on. Like everyone is a masochist when faced with Chris Jericho. A very funny sight.

You may think The Miz has decent mic skills (he does) but he simply modeled those after people like The Rock and Y2J. How unfortunate for guys like John Morrison to lack the ability to speak à la Jericho...they could have surpassed his legacy over time.

Y2J Is an Ever-Evolving Superstar

I had once referred to him as the Madonna of pro-wrestling. A person who can reinvent himself and keep people interested in his work for over two decades.

It is an impressive feat considering how pro-wrestling works. You don't always pull off a new gimmick with success yet Chris Jericho does, 100 percent of the time.

In wrestling he went from being the young "lionheart" cruiserweight to World Champion and then jumped to being a front man for a rock band and then a television dance competitor. Let's not forget the role of husband and father also...that is like three lifetimes for some people.

The thing about him is, he commands respect. Whether a hero or villain, cheered or booed, Chris Jericho has fans everywhere around the world.

He Holds His Own Against the Other Top Superstars

Ring skills? Check!

Mic skills? Check!

Facing John Cena? Check! The Rock? Check! Shawn Michaels? Check!

Those are just a few names of things and people Chris Jericho can be associated with. Whether it is in the ring vs. The Undertaker or a verbal confrontation against The Rock, Chris Jericho is no push over and will take it to you like any other top dog in this business.

That is why everyone likes him so much. The WWE needs him more than it may be leading on. Here's hoping his new stint with the company will be a longer one.

It's not like he has anything to prove really. CM Punk may claim anything he wants but until he beats Chris Jericho, he is NOT the best in the world. And I like the WWE Champion, imagine that.

The Man Is a Multi-Time Champion

Chris Jericho has done pretty much everything there is to do. The only things left are winning the money in the bank and facing The Undertaker at WrestleMania.

Here's hoping either one will happen before he hangs up his boots but if it didn't, that would hardly matter. The man is a future Hall of Famer and one of the "legends" of our time.

WCW World championship, WWE World Heavyweight championship, Undisputed WWE championship.

Intercontinental championship, European championship, Hardcore championship, Tag Team championship.

Triple Crown Champion, Grand Slam Champion.

Slammy Award winner, PWI Illustrated Award recipient, Wrestling Observer Newsletter acknowledgement

There are almost no limits to his accomplishments and that is deserving of a top notch Superstar.

The great part of all this is, he looks in phenomenal shape and his return is treated like a whole new life. How many more titles and merits will he acquire this time around?

He Helps Establish and Develop the Future Stars

Which up and coming Superstar or Diva wouldn't want to get a few pointers from Chris Jericho?

Every other slide so far should convince anyone to step up their game to and model after Y2J because it is in their best interest to do so no?

What kind of program will the WWE Universe see between CM Punk and Chris Jericho and after that, will it be The Miz or Kofi Kingston? What about Dolph Ziggler and Cody Rhodes?

They are all part of a new, fresh crop of talent with immense potential. Being inserted in a program with a legend like Y2J is a major plus especially when a humble man like Jericho has no problem putting people over in order to help elevate them.

A sign of true genius. Such humility is worthy of a top Superstar.

The World Outside of WWE Knows Him Too

WWE is all about business and money.

Chris Jericho IS money. 

It's not everyday you get a ton of exposure because one of your guys is on a world tour promoting his record or appearing of a famous television show.

It is great to have the master back in action and it is fitting he has already taken his place within the main event scene. It is a refreshing change/addition to the mix and will be much appreciated.

Look for Y2J to have yet another incredible year in WWE. One remembered for his awesome matches for the championship or with any of the incredible Superstars.

He is a top dog and will soon reclaim what is rightfully his. It is the end of the world as you know it, so break the walls down.
