WWE News: The Rock to Appear at WrestleMania 29 Next Year

This news is coming off the heels of WWE announcing WrestleMania 29 will take place in New Jersey next spring. In 2013, the event will be held at MetLife Stadium.

Now comes word from Lords of Pain that The Rock has said he is going to be involved as well, following today's WrestleMania 29 press conference. This would be Rocky's third straight appearance at a WrestleMania event.

In 2011, he "hosted" the event. He is wrestling in the main event against John Cena at this year's show. Next year, it seems as if he will play a role once again.

The Rock just posted this message on his Twitter account: "Met Life Stadium. Home of Wrestlemania 29. 2013. #MetLifeWillGetRocked"

My Thoughts on This News

I am not big on any sort of "fantasy booking," but you have to believe he will wrestle. It is far too early to speculate on any matches he may or may not be in.

However, a series of matches with John Cena has always been a possibility to make as much money in their feud. To have a "rubber match" or even a rematch next year would certainly sell well.

Add in the thought of Rocky going into the WWE Hall of Fame, and you have a few ways this could go. I am excited for his role throughout 2012 and into 2013.

He may still be an actor in Hollywood, but he did state last year that he was "never, ever going away again!" Maybe, just maybe, he was onto something...
