WWE News: The Rock Announces Plans for WrestleMania 29
No, your eyes are not deceiving you. It appears that "The Great One" will be making his third straight Mania appearance since his WWE departure in 2004.
Normally, an announcement of this magnitude would not be that big of a deal, considering big-name wrestlers should appear at consecutive WrestleManias. However, as we all know, The Rock is an exception to the rule, as he is a part-time wrestler and full-time actor.
Nonetheless, he announced during Thursday's Wrestlemania 29 press conference that he would indeed be appearing at the event. This news comes from wrestlinginc.com, and according to the article:

"Several readers have sent word that The Rock announced today at the WrestleMania 29 press conference in New Jersey that he will be appearing at next year's big event from MetLife Stadium.
"
As a fan, I am torn. One one hand, you have a big name announcing that he will once again take part in the biggest event of the year, which is huge for all in attendance. However, does The Rock's appearance really do anything for "the Granddaddy of Them All"?
This news will definitely help draw in the casual wrestling fan. However, for those of us who tune in weekly and see how little he is involved in the product, it's kind of underwhelming.
Yes, it was great to find out almost a year ago that The Rock would be stepping in the ring to take on John Cena at WrestleMania 28. Now that the hype is over, it just kind of seems like a throw-away match, as most people would agree that the time to have cashed in on this feud was a year ago.
Instead, we were treated to John Cena vs. The Miz in a match that was OK at best. Not to mention, fans probably would have preferred to see The Rock vs. Cena rather than see Cena in a meaningless title match.
I guess the biggest thing we can hope for is that Rocky will not be guest hosting again. Hopefully, if this year's WrestleMania match is good, we can look forward to seeing him again a year later, if not sooner. In the end, we will have to keep our eyes peeled to see what will go down over the next year.
For all we know, The Rock will be more or equally involved next year. Only time will tell.
