WWE Elimination Chamber 2012: 3 Ways to Gain Interest for WrestleMania

Brian MaziqueFeb 16, 2012

The Elimination Chamber is a solid precursor to WrestleMania, as it is a perfect way to setup major events for the industry’s biggest showcase. Will John Cena finally turn heel, or will this just be another small step in whatever direction his angle is headed?

Will Wade Barrett’s push ever bring him major WWE gold?

We can speculate, but we’ll find out for sure in the coming months.

There are three major occurrences that would surely create even more intrigue heading into WrestleMania.

Here they are:

Have The Rock Show Up in Some Fashion

We all know Cena and the Rock are set to clash at WrestleMania, but bringing him back to the forefront of fans' minds too close to the event could be weird.

If the Rock makes an appearance during Elimination Chamber, and again, right before WrestleMania, it delivers the reminder properly.

His appearance doesn’t have to end in Rock Bottoms for everyone, or this long, spirited mic rant. It just needs to continue to plant the seed. Right now, it’s a little too far in the background.

Have Kharma Annihilate Beth Phoenix

After Beth destroys Tamina Snuka in another display of shear woman power, the only logical threat to her crown should come to the ring and demolish her.

Kharma is the only Diva that fans will buy as a legitimate threat to Phoenix. It would put her over even more to come to the ring and man…I mean woman-handle Phoenix in a way no other WWE Diva has ever done.

This would set up an awesome match at WrestleMania.

Take the Title From CM Punk

I know he is by far the most popular wrestler in the company, but that’s exactly why he should lose the title.

He doesn’t need it to maintain popularity, nor does he have to be without it for long.

Losing it in his Elimination Chamber match to Dolph Ziggler or The Miz would set up a nice Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania between Sheamus, Punk and the winner of this match.

Right now, there are no intriguing opponents for Sheamus amongst the combatants in the Elimination Chamber match for Daniel Bryan’s World Heavyweight title.

With Sheamus guaranteed a shot at either the World Heavyweight title or the WWE title, it makes more sense for him to take on one of the heels in Punk’s match. Punk could regain the title at WrestleMania, which would be a big hit. It would also get two of the company’s biggest stars in the ring at once.
