WWE Elimination Chamber 2012: Randy Orton's Injury Guarantees a Daniel Bryan Win
The realistic odds were already in favor of Daniel Bryan retaining his World Heavyweight Championship at the Elimination Chamber on Sunday because of the weak group of stars involved in the match.
With news from WWE that Randy Orton will miss the match with a concussion, it looks like it will be Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus at WrestleMania.
All of this could have been trumped by a surprise entrant of a super-strong heel like Mark Henry, so what superstar did the WWE get to replace Randy Orton in SmackDown’s Elimination Chamber?

Santino Marella, of course!
As if the weak group of stars in the SmackDown match weren’t bad enough, the addition of Santino brings the total number of stars with no real chance of winning up to three. Count them with me—The Great Khali, Big Show and Santino.
Normal fans were already growing weary of the lackluster element of surprise in this match, but the other two competitors aren’t really worthy of holding the World Championship either. As good as both Cody Rhodes and Wade Barrett have been, the WWE has not made the crowd feel like they have a real chance of walking away with the title.
Bryan stood in the ring on Raw this week over both Randy Orton and Big Show after knocking them out with his World Title. That showed that he was acknowledging that he was a heel, which should mean an absolutely dominant performance on Sunday.
He furthered his heel persona on this Friday’s SmackDown by spitting in the face of babyface Sheamus. The move is very reminiscent of Christian and Randy Orton during their feud in 2011.
If the WWE does not blame Bryan for Orton’s concussion and continues on the route they’ve had planned for his title run the whole time, Elimination Chamber will be the birth of the new evil heel Daniel Bryan. There is no way he could lose now.
