WWE News: When Is Shaq Scheduled to Begin His WWE Run?

Wrestle Mania XXVIII is shaping up to be a huge event for WWE. We all know Rock vs. John Cena is going to be the main event. Based on last week's Raw, Triple H and Undertaker teased another match.

However, the one underrated match on the card will feature a man who has yet to compete in WWE. Yes, I am referring to Shaquille O'Neal.

According to this report, plans are still in place for Shaq to face Big Show at the grandest stage of them all on April 1, 2012. He is set to begin appearing on WWE TV after the Elimination Chamber event.

My Thoughts on This

I love it.

For those that don't remember, Big Show began his feud with Floyd Mayweather back in 2008 at the February PPV. Thus, it certainly seems to be in line with the thought process this year as well.

Start the program in February. Build it up for a month. Have the sports star appear a few times during Raw or Smackdown. Compete in an epic clash at WrestleMania. Leave.

Simple as that.

The best part about all of this is the ongoing war of words. Yes, it is back in 2009, but Show and Shaq have had some interaction inside a WWE ring before. Since then, each has teased a future match.

Until it officially happens, you have to never say never in this business, but I would highly enjoy seeing Shaq back with WWE. He would bring the "celebrity" aspect to the show, unless some count The Rock in that role.

He also is a legitimate star in the world. Some celebrities that WWE has brought in hover around to actually be a major deal. Make no mistake about it, Shaq will bring in a great deal of attention.

As for the match? Assuming it does take place, I trust Big Show. He has been around over a decade and can certainly bring it, especially in "special attraction" matches.

Shaq has been an athlete for the past 20 years. It may have been on the basketball court, but I see him taking this very seriously and delivering for the WWE Universe.

My only questions are who plays what role. Shaq would likely be a face, being that Mania is at the home of his former Miami Heat team. Show has done a nice job as a face as well recently.

Could we be seeing a "respect" match, or is one of the two about to turn to the dark side? Let me know below if you think this match will even happen. If it does, how will this "feud" go about?
