WWE: Why CM Punk Is the Best Baby Face in the Business

Giulio RomanoJun 7, 2018

It's Super Bowl time, folks!

We're just a few hours away from the biggest show of the year. I am referring to Madonna's halftime performance of course, which will blow everyone's mind away in seconds.

The Queen of Pop is a world-class superstar and never fails to impress with her unique skills at pushing people's buttons. Millions love her all over the world, and some, unimaginable as it is, love to hate her.

Does that come across as familiar to you, members of the WWE Universe? The WWE Champion, CM Punk, walks down a similar path and shares many similarities with Madonna in some twisted sort of way.

Like the title states, he is the best, the top baby face character in the business. When his music hits, the crowd goes wild and his t-shirts sell like hot cakes. There is something cool about wearing a shirt claiming you are the best in the world.

Where does one see the comparison between Punk and Madge?

Well, first of all, both are very comfortable with a microphone and have dropped pipe bombs quite often in their lives. There is no telling how many times their voices have been "beeped," and the best part is, they thrive on it. Doing that only makes them want to push buttons even more.

There is big money in controversy.

Another factor is the uniqueness of the character they play, or at the core, the person they are. I for one used to be against a CM Punk push. I was never on his bandwagon and didn't understand what all the hype was about. I kept watching and actually learned to enjoy him when he was part of the Straightedge Society.

Afterwards came the whole Nexus fiasco, but when you think about it, CM Punk was the only real member there; the others were like canned fodder. His match versus Randy Orton at WrestleMania XXVII was very impressive, and by then, I couldn't get enough of him.

His career took a turn for the best when he dropped that promo about Vince McMahon and his family life on Raw. Whether or not you believe it was scripted, CM Punk must have had quite an important role in deciding what would be said, and upon uttering a single word, his fanbase passed from thousands to perhaps millions.

Reinvention. A key word for an artist attempting to create a legacy. No one is more a master at reinvention than Madonna. She has executed it with perfection for almost 30 years and is set to have the most successful year of any artist in 2012.

Just this week, it was decided she would hold a concert on the Plains of Abraham in Quebec City this September. This means there will be approximately 300,000 people there. Do you know how much of an impact that will create?

Paul McCartney's performance was stellar in 2008; Madonna's will be intergalactic! Never seen before.

CM Punk has experienced some changes of his own over the years. New hairdos, new tattoos, new merchandise, face, heel, face, the World Heavyweight championship and now the WWE championship...ouf! I'm exhausted.

Round up everything, and you have THE best baby face in sports-entertainment. There is nothing you can do really; he is just cool. He's got the look and everything; it's spectacular. Don't get me started on the quality of his matches. Like Madonna, his performances are flawless.

It is with great pleasure I will watch her Madgesty blow the roof off of that fu**** (as she always says),  and on April 1, I will enjoy the pending match between the best in the world and WWE Champion CM Punk and the best in the world at what he does, Chris Jericho.

This is so exciting; 2012 could not have begun any better.

Madonna and Punk and Jericho and Super Bowl, oh my!
