5 Fantasy Baseball Players That Will Go 30/30 in 2012
In 2011 four players hit 30 home runs and stole 30 bases.
- Matt Kemp (39/40)
- Ryan Braun (33/33)
- Jacoby Ellsbury (32/39)
- Ian Kinsler (32/30)
Considering Ryan Braun will play at most 112 games this season, I don't see him being a repeat offender. The speed will always be there for Ellsbury, but only 20 home runs in 1,688 plate appearances prior to 2011. I don't buy another 30 home run season for Ellsbury.
These are the guys you need on your fantasy roster in 2012 to capture the elusive HR and SB categories.
Matt Kemp
1 of 5Last season Kemp was one blast away from joining Canseco, Bonds, A-Rod and Soriano in the 40/40 club. Kemp is without question the premiere 5-Tool player in the game and the only one capable of reaching 40/40.
Ian Kinsler
2 of 5He's proven when he can stay in the line-up for at least 144 games he will reach the 30/30 plateau. Last season Kinsler walked 89 times and only struck out 71 times, great underlying numbers for a potential repeat.
Carlos Gonzalez
3 of 5You tend to forget Cargo finished 2010, 3rd in MVP voting with 34 home runs and 26 stolen bases in 145 games. An injury plagued 2011 limited him to only 127 games, but showed consistency in production with 26 home runs and 20 stolen bases. Cargo is a monster when he plays, and if he can stay healthy for 150 games expect huge numbers across the board.
Justin Upton
4 of 5Battling injuries early in his career has put Upton’s breakout year on hold till 2011. Busting out with a line of .289/.369/.529 with 31 home runs and 21 stolen bases. At the ripe age of 24 expect Upton to tear up HR and SB categories.
Drew Stubbs
5 of 5Stubbs showed 30/30 potential after slugging 22 home runs and swiping 30 bases in 2010. But a down 2011 season saw his slugging percentage drop from .444 to .364, while leading the MLB with 205 strikeouts. If he can cut down his strikeout rate he very well could hit 30 home runs to complement his 40 stolen base potential.
