WWE Rumors: CM Punk, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton and Thursday's Top WWE News

Adam WellsMay 31, 2018

Ratings for Raw were encouraging as they ticked up to their highest level in months. That says fans are coming back to see how the Road to WrestleMania is going to look, and WWE has a lot of pressure on its shoulders over the next two months to deliver.

Over the last few weeks, I have been skeptical that WrestleMania will be as big as it should be. Considering the way WWE screwed up Rock's return at Survivor Series, and the terrible buy rate that show did, you can understand the trepidation.

As long as the WrestleMania name is attached, and the build doesn't go too far off the rails, the show should be fine.

But before we can worry about that, we have to talk about all the news, notes and information in WWE today.

CHRIS JERICHO ENGAGING CM PUNK VIA TWITTER

Chris Jericho's heel turn took place on Monday's Raw, with him delivering a codebreaker to WWE Champion CM Punk at the end of his match with Daniel Bryan. Things are starting to amp up on Twitter, with the Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla saying this:

Question on Everybody's Mind: How do you hate "Cult of Personality?"

Our Take: It doesn't matter if you are working an angle or not, there is no conceivable way to dislike Living Colour's biggest hit. The guitar riff is phenomenal, and the lyrics are outstanding. Someone like Jericho, who is a rock star in his own right, should be ashamed of saying such terrible things.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Old School Wrestling Feuds

Horribly offensive insults about great songs aside, a Jericho-CM Punk feud has a world of potential because of how great and creative both stars are. It won't headline WrestleMania, but it could easily be the best match on the show.

ALL FORMER CHAMPION MONEY IN THE BANK MATCH?

With WWE doing the right thing by bringing the Money In the Bank Match at WrestleMania, there are details trickling out about who the participants might be. The most recent rumor has it being built around former champions, like Randy Orton, Alberto Del Rio, Jack Swagger, Mark Henry, Kane and Christian, among others.

Question on Everybody's Mind: How is that match going to work?

Our Take: Aside from Christian, none of those wrestlers can do anything with a ladder, so it would not be one of the most memorable MITB matches. Hopefully that idea doesn't turn out to be true, because there must be at least one high-flyer in the match. If they add Kofi and Rey Mysterio, that would be good.

Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 WrestleMania Moments

Even with the MITB match idea not being great, the fact that it is back where it belongs is a good sign for WWE. This match should feel special, and being on a WrestleMania card, as opposed to just having its own watered-down PPV, makes it a bigger deal.

EVAN BOURNE REPORTEDLY HEADS TO REHAB

There has been no official confirmation of this news yet, but there are rumblings going around that Evan Bourne, who was suspended last month for another Wellness Policy violation, has entered rehab to save his job in WWE.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Will it work?

Our Take: If Bourne is serious about breaking his habit and not just saving his job, it will be all good. If he is just doing it to appease the bosses, odds are good that he will slip up because he isn't doing it for the right reasons.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Rumors That We Hope Are True

Bourne has bigger problems than whether he can save his job, so hopefully he is serious about getting better. It would be great to see him back on WWE television when his suspension is over, but there are more important things that have to be taken care of first.

CHYNA GOES NUTS ALL OVER TWITTER

Speaking of someone who could stand a little rehab, Chyna went on a tirade of epic proportions on Twitter. She talked about everything from the state of the current WWE product to personal issues she has with certain people working backstage.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Has she lost it again?

Our Take: That would imply she had it at some point. In all seriousness, this woman's life right now is one giant cry for help. She may not want to do anything to take care of herself, but everything she does indicates that she has to do something.

Hype Meter: 3 out of 5 Strange Social Media Tirades

Chyna has not been right since leaving WWE back in 2001. She has gone through a lot of personal problems, yet she does not seem to realize that she is spiraling out of control.
