Undertaker's WWE Return: What It Means for John Laurinaitis

Nathan GieseJun 7, 2018

Last night at the conclusion of Raw, just as Triple H was about to utter the phrase "I wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavors," to Mr. Future Endeavor himself, John Laurinaitis, subsequently taking back control of Raw...

BONG...BONG...BONG...

That's right, Undertaker has made his long-awaited return.

Nearly one full year since his last WrestleMania encounter with Triple H, the Deadman has once again began his search for his latest victim.

Irony was clearly the motive for timing of Taker's return. Moments after saying the board of directors had determined that Triple H, whom during his run as Raw general manager let his emotions get the best of him, now had the capability of controlling his personal issues.

Enter the irony.  As Undertaker's music began playing, we can't help but flash back to Triple H's Slammy Award acceptance speech in December, during which he made his intentions clear that he wanted another chance at the illustrious undefeated streak.

Except, rather than initiate any interaction, the COO walked away from the ring, leaving behind any possible conflict that could arise from the situation.

While Undertaker's return could mean a number of things for a number of people, one man in particular was affected tonight more any anybody else.

That's right, that man is Mr. Excitement himself, Johnny Ace.

When first examining the segment in question, Triple H would seemingly be the first person to pop into your mind when you consider the circumstances surrounding their last meeting.  Granted, Hunter certainly has merit to be the one we think about in this situation, but overall, Johnny was the one who was affected the most last night.

Not only did Undertaker's return allow Johnny to avoid hearing the words that would cost him his job, it brought Triple H back to a state of emotions could easily be toyed with, once again allowing Johnny the chance to remain interim GM for the time being.

We won't know much more about the build of this story until we hear a reaction from either Triple H or Undertaker, but one thing is for sure at this point in time: John "Excitement" Laurinaitis isn't going anywhere.

At least, not yet.

John should be joining Undertaker's Kiss My Backside Club now, knowing that without him, he would be out of a job right now.

Welcome back, Undertaker. We have missed you.
