Super Bowl 2012: A New York Win Makes Eli Manning More Prolific Than Peyton

Success in the NFL isn't just measured by passing yards, touchdowns and turnovers.

It's measured by wins...big wins.

That begs the question:

If the New York Giants defeat the New England Patriots in Sunday's Super Bowl, will Eli Manning surpass his older brother Peyton as the most prolific quarterback in the Manning family?

Call me crazy, but I think the answer is a resounding YES.

There is no question that Peyton Manning has cemented himself as one of the most dominant NFL quarterbacks of all time. But he appears to be on his way out and has just one Super Bowl victory on his resume.

While Eli may never catch up to Peyton statistically, a win over the mighty Patriots this weekend would give the younger Manning his second Super Bowl win at just 31 years of age.

Even more impressively, it would mark his second Super Bowl victory over future Hall of Famer Tom Brady and the second time in five seasons in which the Giants won a Super Bowl having started the playoffs as a four seed or lower.

While Eli may not have the skill set that Peyton possesses, he wins when it matters the most—something that can't be said about his older brother.

For that reason alone he could very realistically surpass Peyton this Sunday to become the most prolific quarterback in the Manning family.
