Super Bowl Predictions 2012: Outcomes for Most Ridiculous Prop Bets

Eric BowmanJun 2, 2018

While the majority of people watching Super Bowl XLVI will be amped to see the New York Giants and the New England Patriots go head-to-head, there will still be a lot of people excited for the random series of proposition bets they can make.

Some are simple ones like who will win MVP, but it's always more fun to go on a limb and place a wager on the crazy prop bets.

You don't even have to bet money, as bragging rights with those at your Super Bowl party is just as fun if not better.

With that said, here my predictions for a few of the most ridiculous prop bets for Super Bowl XLVI.

What Color Will Madonna's Hair Be?

Blonde (-400)

Any other color (+250)

This is just one of the many prop bets related to Madonna, but predicting her hair color is just odd to me.

Madonna is certainly wild, crazy and unpredictable, so this isn't an easy call to make. However, given the fact the Super Bowl halftime show has been risque before, my gut says Madonna will keep it simple to avoid backlash.

Besides, she should probably focus on her singing instead of what she looks like. Then again, she's a huge icon so no matter how she performs at the Super Bowl, her reputation won't be tarnished that much.

Will We See Kelly Clarkson's Bare Belly?

Yes (+500)

This is a very strange prop bet, and one I don't think it's worth even touching. Nobody knows what Clarkson will wear when she sings the national anthem, but I highly doubt it will be something scandalous.

That means the only way to see her bare belly is for her to be wearing a shirt that somehow comes up as she belts the high notes. I think she'll be wearing a dress or perhaps even a jacket of some sort since it will be near freezing temperatures outside, so I don't think we'll be seeing any skin.

How Many Times Will Peyton Manning Be Shown?

Over/Under set at 3.5

Since the Super Bowl is played in Lucas Oil Stadium, there will of course be plenty of talk about Peyton Manning. Plus, Peyton's little brother Eli will be vying for his second Super Bowl victory, and if he gets it he will have more than Peyton.

This offseason is going to be full of Peyton Manning talk, and since he is due for his $28 million check soon, the talks of his future with the Colts will continue to heat up. He's going to be in attendance, and the camera will find him.

That being said, I'll take the under here. I think the announcers will discuss him from time to time, and they'll show in a couple times, but it would be ludicrous to show him four times during the game.

How Many Times Will David Tyree's 2008 Super Bowl Catch Be Shown?

Over/Under set at 1

This is a very tough call to make because that catch was so very memorable. It was one of the greatest and most luckiest catches ever, plus it helped the Giants beat the Patriots, ruining New England's quest for a perfect record.

It's going to be mentioned quite a few times, especially if somebody makes a spectacular catch. However, them actually showing the catch during the game is a different story.

My gut says to take the over because it's only at 1. If the line were a little bit bigger I'd be inclined to stay away or take the under, but I'd go with the over here because the catch was so significant the last time these teams played in the Super Bowl.
