Deadline Day: Manchester United Sign City Defender
Manutd.com has just announced that Manchester United has completed the signing of Manchester City's young defender Frederic Veseli.
The 19-year-old has lead his country to an Under-17 World Cup win in 2009 and has also played at under-19 level. He is naturally a centre-back however can also play at right-back, and is known to have "natural defensive talents" and "a good eye for a pass."
Veseli can also be employed as a holding midfielder, thus could possibly draw comparisons to another of United's young defenders, Phil Jones.

Veseli said the following to Man United's official website:
"I am very happy and it is an honour to sign for Manchester United. I can’t wait to get started, to work hard and do everything I can to help the team. I am looking forward to showing everybody what I can do on the pitch. I am very thankful to Sir Alex Ferguson for bringing me to such a great club. Manchester United has a long history of younger players coming through and hopefully I can follow and do the same.
"
The deal is said to have been pushed through by Veseli, who was fed up of the lack of first team opportunities.
