Arsenal Transfer Rumours: 5 Possible Deadline Day Deals

Tomorrow is the big day, so let's get right to it.

Arsenal are being linked with several players on the eve of transfer deadline day. Some of the rumours are probably good, but as we all know, most of them are complete rubbish.

Today's batch offers something for everyone. The papers are linking Arsenal with players currently playing in England, Germany, Spain and Turkey. And there's even an American in there somewhere.

Time is short, so let's get started.

Adrian Mariappa

Club: Watford

Position: Defender

Age: 25

According to the Sun, Arsenal and manager Arsene Wenger are preparing a bid for Watford defender Adrian Mariappa, 25. Watford want £4 million, but would settle for £2 million.

The Sun claim Newcastle have already seen a £1.5 million bid rejected. They say Mariappa would be only a squad player at Arsenal.

Mariappa, who was born in England of Fijian descent, came through Watford's youth system. He can play centrally or as a fullback.

Lucas Torres

Club: Alcoyano

Position: Forward

Age: 17

InsideFutbol and TribalFootball are reporting that Arsenal, Real Madrid and Valencia are chasing forward Lucas Torres, 17, of Spanish second-division club Alcoyano.

Both articles claim Valencia has an agreement with Alcoyano that would give Valencia the first chance to sign Torres.

Julian Draxler

Club: Schalke 04

Position: Winger

Age: 18

Schalke winger Julian Draxler, 18, was first linked with Arsenal earlier this month. More recently, he has been quoted as saying he's flattered by Arsenal's interest.

But according to Goal.com, Draxler wants to stay in Germany for now. After making his first-team debut in January 2011, he has made more than 30 appearances for Schalke.

I've only been a professional for a year and would like to establish myself, he said. My heart is here at Schalke, and I do not think for one second about a change, because I see my future at Schalke. I didn't sign until 2016 for nothing.

Inter are also reportedly interested.

Burak Yilmaz

Club: Trabzonspor

Position: Forward

Age: 26

Turkish international forward Burak Yilmaz is being linked with Arsenal, and according to Goal.com, he would welcome the move.

Goal.com report that Yilmaz has scored 22 goals in 17 league matches this season. They say AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund are also interested.

Clint Dempsey

Club: Fulham

Position: Forward

Age: 28

Clint Dempsey, everybody's favorite rapping American soccer player, is in form and being linked with Arsenal.

Dempsey, 28, has scored two hat tricks this month. He joined Fulham in 2007 from the New England Revolution.
