UFC on FOX 2 Results: Lavar Johnson and 7 Hardest-Hitting Heavyweights

The heavyweight division has the hardest hitters in MMA.

At UFC on FOX 2, Lavar Johnson proved that he was one of the elite heavy hitters at heavyweight.

There are other heavyweights that pack a lethal punch (or kick, or knee, for that matter) who could knock a normal man's head into the stratosphere.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez was once accused of having pillow hands (meaning he had no KO power), but he's since quieted his critics with (T)KO victories over Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Brock Lesnar.

His strikes may not be the most powerful in the division, but they are strong in their own right and they come in flurries that overwhelm opponents.

Pat Barry

Pat Barry is an accomplished kickboxer with power in his hands but even more power in his leg kicks, which are perhaps the most lethal in the division.

He cut the legs out from underneath Joey Beltran with leg kicks, and he nearly had Check Kongo defeated before the Frenchmen's plucky victory.

Lavar Johnson

Lavar Johnson was an unheralded former Strikeforce fighter prior to UFC on FOX 2.

Now, he's a legit force in the division, which he proved through his KO power.

Johnson was matched up against Joey Beltran, whose ability to absorb punishment became something of a legend. Despite Beltran's hard head, he was knocked out by Johnson in devastating fashion.

Cheick Kongo

Cheick Kongo's kickboxing prowess is among the finest in the heavyweight division, with his unbelievable comeback victory over Pat Barry serving as the most recent example.

The Frenchman is a hard hitter who could put almost any other fighter's lights out given a clean shot.

Shane Carwin

Shane Carwin's fists double as sledgehammers. 

His hands are the biggest in the UFC, and he packs an incredible punch, only narrowly bested by two men in the MMA world.

Junior Dos Santos

A hair's length separates the striking power of UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos and the next fighter on the list (who should be no surprise by now).

Dos Santos has the best technical boxing in the heavyweight division and an uppercut that could tear a man's head off. 

His hands might as well be atomic bombs.

Alistair Overeem

If the hands of Dos Santos are atomic bombs, the knees of Alistair Overeem are hydrogen bombs.

There is simply no one in MMA that can stand up to Overeem's knees. No one.

In addition, Overeem's other strikes are powerful too. He gets the highest ranking on this list because Dos Santos just has his hands; Overeem has eight limbs to destroy his opponents with.
