Devin Fuller to UCLA: Bruins Land Star QB Prospect
Jim Mora Jr. and the UCLA Bruins have officially made a step in the right direction.
Top-talent Devin Fuller has officially committed to UCLA, according to Max Preps. The Bruins are a team that have struggled mightily offensively over the last several seasons, as adding Fuller will be a major asset for this team going forward.
Player Ranking/High School Accomplishments
ESPNU has Fuller ranked at No. 39 in the country with a scout grade of 82, while Max Preps has Fuller at No. 35 in the nation.
In his junior season, Fuller recorded a whopping 1,886 yards, 20 touchdowns and completed 95-of-143 passes on the year for Northern Valley Regional High in New Jersey. Fuller was also known as a significant threat in the run game, as he is one of the more mobile quarterbacks coming out of the 2012 recruiting class.
Final College Choice: UCLA Bruins
What Fuller Brings
Fuller comes is as the third-highest ranked QB in the recruiting class. He is a mobile QB that can do damage both with his legs and arms. ESPNU has him as one of the quicker, more elusive QBs in this year's class.
His athletic ability and success throwing in the pocket makes Fuller a big-time addition for the Bruins.
Fuller Will Be a Major Boost to this Bruins Team
This Bruins team has shown major struggles offensively as of late, and will be able to use his talent to the fullest in the next several seasons to come. The team's 23.1 points ranked No. 88 in the country last season and led to a 6-8 season.
Fuller adds mobility in the pocket and young, fresh talent to a team in much need of a new start at the position. QB Kevin Prince put up average production at best in his season last year with the Bruins.
An offense that is struggling in UCLA will greatly appreciate the type of offensive talent that Fuller brings to the table at the QB spot.
Projected 2012 Impact
With a 6-8 season in 2012, the Bruins will look to Fuller for a fresh start in the 2012-13 season.
An ability to bring a dynamic offense to the table will be a significant difference maker for the Bruins offense. With time and solid coaching under Mora, Fuller will grow to be a solid player for this team and make a relatively immediate impact for the team.
Expect big things from the Top 50 recruit in the nation as a member of a struggling Bruins team in search of a lift.
