Senior Bowl 2012: NFL Draft Prospects That Will Benefit from Good Stat Lines

Andrew KulhaJun 3, 2018

A good stat line in the Senior Bowl goes a long ways in the NFL draft, and there are a few players that really may have helped themselves out in the 2012 NFL draft with good games at the Senior Bowl.

No matter how much film we watch or how hard we critique a player, there is nothing we can do to dispute their stats.

If a scout says they have horrible accuracy, yet the stats say they completed 18-of-22 for 284 yards two touchdowns and no interceptions—perhaps there's a little bit more than meets the eye with said player.

It's the power of the stat line, and in a game like the Senior Bowl where your exposure is limited, something like good statistics can really leave a lasting impression.

Which players really helped themselves out with good stats at the 2012 Senior Bowl?

Let's check it out:

Nick Foles, QB, Arizona: 11-of-15 for 136 yards, one touchdown, no interceptions.

Foles is a guy that I was pretty high on coming into the game, and with this stat line, he may have solidified himself as the No. 3 quarterback in the draft.

He's big at 6'5'', 240 pounds, and he throws an incredible deep ball. He's got good power and good field vision, but he needs to work a bit on his accuracy and consistency.

He's the only quarterback on the South squad that didn't throw an interception and his numbers showed he was very accurate. This was a great showing by Foles.

Joe Adams, WR, Arkansas: Six catches for 116 yards

What a huge game from Adams, who really stepped up and dominated the game as far as wide receivers are concerned.

In a draft that features four to five first-rounders, you have to do everything you can to stick out, and Adams did exactly that.

Not only did he get over 116 yards, but his average of 19.3 per catch shows that he has big-play potential.
