Jason Giambi Looks to Be Headed Back to Oakland

With the addition of Mark Teixeira we all knew that Giambi wouldn’t be returning in ‘09. The question is where he will go. According to a source, Oakland might sign Giambi to a one-year deal (w/ a possible option) by the end of the week.

Green was a bust last year for the Yankees’ Triple-A club, hitting .212/.267/.317 in 208 at-bats. He’s a career .240/.309/.347 hitter in 703 at-bats as a major leaguer. He’ll be playing for Pawtucket when the season starts.
