Gabe ZaldivarJun 2, 2018

All good thing come to an end, and that goes for spirited play at the 2012 Australian Open. Day 13 will prove to be a memorable one that you simply can't miss.

We have seen so many things that will stick with us through the myriad of tournaments in 2012. The Aussie was telling in so many regards.

Serena Williams is not yet ready to contend for a Grand Slam. The rest may do her well after Melbourne. We also saw an epic match between two legends go to Rafael Nadal once again.

It will be interesting to see how Roger Federer rebounds from the defeat, considering how phenomenal he had been playing prior to the Australian Open.

Day 13 is all about the ladies, though.

We may have seen Novak Djokovic dispatch with Andy Murray in a marathon match, 6-3, 3-6, 6-7 (4), 6-1, 7-5, but the final between Djoker and Nadal will have to wait for Day 14. Today is about scream queens, squealing and poised championship play.

Maria Sharapova is set to play Belarusian Victoria Azarenka for her first Grand Slam chance at glory since last year's Wimbledon.

This is a chance for Sharapova to prove that injury issues are well behind her and the sport does indeed belong to her again.

Azarenka has the talent to win the match, but her poise is a question. It is extremely hard to win your first major final, and Azarenka is going against a heavily decorated veteran.

If that doesn't pique your interest, you will also get a chance to hear what all the grunting is about. Sharapova has again come under fire for her shrieking, but that is not about to stop her.

For the Aussie final, I am sure her vocal chords will be in rare form. Here are the details.

Coverage begins Saturday at 3 p.m. EST on the Tennis Channel and continues from 9:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. and from 3:30 a.m. to 6 a.m. EST on ESPN2.

DirecTV subscribers can also catch every match through the Australian Open Experience.
