Royal Rumble 2012: Potential RAW GM Candidates After Rumble
Even though John Laurinaitis has done a better job than I expected from him as the interim general manager of RAW, his feud with CM Punk is about to end and he'll probably be fired on Monday night. That will open the door for a fresh face to lead the red brand.
Here are three potential candidates to take over the gig once Johnny Ace is gone.
Mick Foley

Foley hasn't had a defined role since returning to the WWE. He's still a personality that fans love to see and finding a weekly spot for him instead of bouncing him around should be a priority. Taking over the spot from Laurinaitis seems like the ideal scenario.
It almost seems like Foley has been trying too hard to get a crowd reaction since making his return, instead of just being the lovable loaf he's always been. Giving him a permanent spot would let him find his groove, leading to some vintage Foley moments.
“The Road Dogg” Jesse James
Road Dogg got a huge pop when he came out on Slammy Award night. His charisma allowed him to become one of the most popular wrestlers during the mid-to-late 90's. That's exactly what the new GM needs after a couple months of deadpan Laurinaitis.
The fact that WWE brought him on as an agent and producer shows how much respect they have in his opinion about the company. Giving him a more prominent television role would be the best of both worlds because he could still work behind the scenes while also giving the fans something new.
William Regal
After being off TV for months, Regal has started popping up again in segments involving Brodus Clay, who's now known as “Funkasaurus.” This leads me to believe something bigger is on the horizon for the former Intercontinental Champion.
He's held the role of RAW general manager in the past and did a really solid job. His days of wrestling on a nightly basis are probably over, but he portrays his character so well that he's worth keeping around. Taking control of a show that has struggled with ratings would be one way to do that.
