Royal Rumble Predictions: Chris Jericho Must Interfere in CM Punk's Title Match

There is an interesting situation developing that may provide us with a key clue about the championship match at this weekend’s Royal Rumble.

CM Punk, the current champion, was scheduled for an event on March 5 at the TD Garden against John Cena in a street fight. Posted on the arena's website is a message suggesting that this was going to be the last ever match for Punk in Boston. The website quickly removed the message.

Now the site has CM Punk facing off against Dolph Ziggler with the other main event being John Cena vs. Kane.

How does this relate to Royal Rumble?

It potentially means that Punk loses his title at this Sunday’s event and I have a funny feeling that Chris Jericho is going to be involved in one form or another.

Y2J has been extremely quiet since his 1/2/12 return; in fact he hasn’t said a freakin’ word. But we all know this is going to change this Sunday on PPV and the only question that remains is how to make sure he makes a lasting impression.

What better way to reintroduce himself to all the fans than to crash the championship match between Punk and Dolph Ziggler?

Punk is currently on top of the wrestling world as he ushers in the new era of the WWE. Yet the beauty of the sport is that the creative team does a great job of incorporating the younger guys with the ole’ wily veterans.

Punk is a young guy. Jericho is a vet. The formula is all set up.

Whether it is an innocent typo or a mistake that just spoiled Royal Rumble, Punk is going down and there is no better wrestler to do the honors than Chris Jericho.
