Royal Rumble 2012 Predictions: Triple Threat Scenario Will Work for Daniel Bryan

Michael DixonJan 26, 2012

If the Big Show and Mark Henry work together, then Daniel Bryan is in a lot of trouble. Fortunately, the two challengers have unresolved business, meaning that the Heavyweight Champion will swoop right in and retain his title against the two behemoths.

If you haven't noticed, Bryan has turned in to a craftier performer since winning the title. That is why he won the title and how he's managed to retain it. The fact that he's now in the ring against two men that will need to beat not only Bryan, but each other, is a huge break.

It doesn't matter that Bryan doesn't need to be involved in the decision to lose his title. That is a completely overrated element of a triple threat match. The Big Show and Henry aren't going to work together without also beating each other to a pulp.

While the two are distracted with each other, Bryan can sit back, bide his time and wait for them to incapacitate each other. When you have two men the size of the Big Show and Henry, it's not exactly going to take long for that to happen.

Even if they don't incapacitate each other, remember that this is a cage match. You don't need to pin an opponent to win nor do you need to have him submit. Bryan can simply climb the cage or even just walk out the door.

While the size advantage clearly does not work in Bryan's favor, he is clearly the quickest man in the ring. Not only is Bryan the smallest competitor in the ring, but he's also ten years younger than the Henry and nine years younger than the Big Show.

His body hasn't gone through anywhere near the kind of abuse that they have. So while those two are locked up, it won't be hard for Bryan to get away and escape.

Bryan doesn't need to be a fighting champion to successfully defend this title. No, he only needs to be the smartest man in the ring. Judging by his title reign thus far, that isn't going to be a problem.

The triple threat stipulation may seem to work against the champion, but Bryan will have no problem using it to his advantage. As a result, the title will stay in his hands, and the Big Show and Henry will be vanquished.
