Giants vs. Patriots: Super Bowl Win Will Usher in New Manning Era

It will be just fine, America. The NFL will still have an elite quarterback answering to the name Manning, only his first name is Eli and it's time he got his due respect. 

The nation has already decided the pantheon of elite quarterbacks cannot possibly fit another Manning. The Mt. Rushmore of QB's we care about has Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers and, for some odd reason, Tim Tebow. 

As if suffering some little brother syndrome, Eli Manning is forever in the back, an afterthought like Jan Brady. Well, it's time to consider that Marcia Brady wasn't all that and a bag of chips, and Manning has exactly what we look for in a clutch athlete worthy of national praise. 

What do we ask of our elite? That they get a Super Bowl title, right? Manning is set to do that twice over and would pull ahead of his big brother, who is unquestioned as a Hall of Fame quarterback. 

Little bro does it, and he does so with little to no aplomb. It's time we stop all that because the dude is clutch. 

The man that threw the amazing David Tyree catch and tossed a Hail Mary to Hakeem Nicks to destroy the alleged best team in the land was Manning. 

However, those are all big catches that were more good fortune than god-given skill. I would agree, but a clutch player still has to make them. 

His stats can't be argued against, though. He threw for 4,933 yards, a marvel that would have been far more interesting had three other QBs not thrown for more than 5,000 yards. 

That is fitting, though. Eli Manning is forever in the shadows of his brother, Peyton, so it would make sense he play far from the reaches of most fans' minds. 

That all changes with a Super Bowl win. One title is elusive and extremely hard to get, but two is the mark of legends. 

Manning would have equal footing with Bart Starr, Bob Griese and Roger Staubach. More importantly, he would hold over something that his brother is increasingly unlikely to own. 

It would finally be time to consider that the best Manning around is the little brother with two Super Bowl rings. We are a little over a week from welcoming a well-deserved QB into the fold of elite quarterbacks.
