Senior Bowl 2012: Analyzing the Top Offensive Line Prospects in Mobile

Chris TrapassoJun 7, 2018

With the NFL clearly transformed into a pass-happy league, there's an increased need for a handful of stonewall offensive linemen.

At the 2012 Senior Bowl, there are a few offensive line prospects with first-round potential.

Let's give them a closer look as we head into the showcase game on Saturday.

Mike Adams, OT, Ohio State

At 6'7'' and 323 pounds, Adams weighed-in as the biggest player in Mobile this week. He projects to the left tackle position in the NFL and has the length to become the foundation of an offensive line at the next level.

He's battled with Marshall's pass-rushing demon Vinny Curry during practices and has been successful.

Some believe he'd be better suited for the right side of the line because he doesn't have the quickest feet and could struggle with speed rushers.

However, he's a mauler against the run and can simply overpower defensive lineman with his size and brute strength.

He should be a mid-to-late first-round pick.

Kelechi Osemele, OL, Iowa State

Osemele is 6'5'' and 333 pounds, so he possesses NFL size and was a staple on the Cyclones line for three full seasons.

There's a chance he'll be slotted in at the right tackle position at the pro ranks, but he'd best serve a team at either guard spot. This is due to his agility and run blocking strength and his sometimes slower backpedal.

He carries his weight well and is deceptively quick, which is ideal if he's utilized on a variety of pulls in the NFL.

Osemele could sneak into the late stages of Round 1, but carries second-round value.

Cordy Glenn, OL, Georgia

Glenn's a beast at 6'5'' and 346 pounds, who played left tackle during his time with the Bulldogs. He's a great athlete for his size and possesses solid footwork.

Some coaches may see his feet as adequate enough and slide him onto the edge of their offensive line. Others may move him to left or right guard, depending on the other linemen on their roster.

He has long arms and uses them with great power, so he's an incredible run blocker and used his wide frame in pass protection with great success during his collegiate career.

He's had a strong showing at the Senior Bowl practices and should go in the end of the first round.
