Chuck Pagano: Twitter Reacts to Colts' New Head Coach

Ryan RudnanskyJun 7, 2018

With the Indianapolis Colts reportedly hiring Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano on Wednesday, Twitter has predictably been abuzz as football fans ponder whether he's the man to help the team rise from a 2-14 record in 2011.

Pagano, who was also the Ravens' secondary coach from 2008 to 2010, has certainly produced results on defense in Baltimore and could be the answer for the Colts, who gave up 26.9 points per game and recorded a league-worst eight interceptions.

Albert Breer of NFL Network appears to like the move. Tweeted Breer:

Not everybody was happy about Breer's comparison to New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan, however. Tweeted AunteeL:

Colts owner Jim Irsay sent out a challenge via Twitter on Tuesday asking fans who they thought the Colts' new head coach would be. It's safe to say fan randyr144 got it right:

Fan aubradley84 was concerned about what this meant as far as Peyton Manning's future with the Colts:

But perhaps Pagano's hire will convince free agent receiver Reggie Wayne to stay, as SirCoach points out:

The praise isn't only relegated to Colts fans, however. Tennessee Titans fan Melissa was concerned about the move:

BaltimoreBoy had a humorous take on what would be an unforgettable flub by Pagano at his first Colts press conference:

Matt Vensel of the Baltimore Sun addresses the claims that Pagano was aided by having Ray Lewis on his defense:

And, sure, Pagano has to be happy with his new head coaching job, but JonBurton32 points out he has a tall order on his hands:

Fan sweetbob thought the Colts hiring Pagano after Jim Tressel rumors was mighty sweet:

Not everyone was happy about the hire, however. DaKidGowie, aka Baltimore rapper "Most Dope," didn't think the move was "dope" at all:

Echoing some sentiments from the Colts' faithful, bkanavel thought the Colts should have gone with an offensive-minded coach instead:

Stay tuned for a new saga in Indianapolis.
