What We’re Watching For
All-Star Fantasy Draft
One of the reasons that the NHL All-Star weekend has dominated other sports is because of the innovation of the how the teams are selected.
Two captains are assigned and they proceed to have a fantasy draft with the all-stars. It’s a fun time that always has smiles—and frowns. Especially for the last player picked.
Skills Competition
What’s better than seeing two goalies race each other in full equipment or seeing a giant defenseman smash a puck at over 100 miles per hour? Nothing.
With all of the amazing trick events as well as skill competitions, this is by far the most fun part of any all-star weekend.
All-Star Game
Everyone knows that this will turn into a 14-12 offensive showcase, but what’s so wrong with that? I have heard nothing but complaining about the All-Star Game, yet the same people complain about not enough scoring in the league.
The game should look like they did in the 80s, where every game had those wild scores. Either way, this will be an offensive showcase people can get excited about!
