WWE SmackDown: Where Is the Storyline with Drew McIntyre Leading?
Caution! This article contains minor spoilers from this Friday's SmackDown.
Drew McIntyre has been on a losing streak that has seen him come close to losing his job for the past several weeks.
Teddy Long even fired him before Santino asked for him to be reinstated.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
This storyline seems to have a purpose, as WWE would not give so much attention to a losing streak if they didn't have an end game. I do not think this is punishment for something, either.
I think WWE is doing the same thing they did with MVP a few years ago.
MVP made the turn from heel to baby face during a similar losing streak storyline, and I think WWE might be doing the same thing with McIntyre here.
And it might be working.
According to spoilers posted at TWNP News, Drew gets somewhat of a baby face reaction when he comes out for his match during this week's upcoming SmackDown.
This could all come off differently on TV, as WWE uses canned audience responses for their pre-taped SmackDowns.
I hope this is the case, because Drew McIntyre has a lot of potential that has been wasted for the last year. While rumors of why he was being punished were rampant, it looks as if WWE is going to give him some kind of push soon.
Having him lose week after week while desperately trying to keep his job may just endear him to some fans. Being out of work is a reality many Americans know all too well—as well as do many other people from around the world—so it may give him some sympathy.
McIntyre has all the right tools to have a long, successful career in WWE.
He has the look, build, height and skill that would make him a favorite of someone like Vince McMahon, who brought him to TV in a special introduction.
The Chairman does not often go out and give his endorsement to a new superstar, so WWE must have had really high hopes for Drew when he first arrived on the scene.
For a long time, he was referred to as the "Chosen One" because of his personal endorsement by McMahon. Hopefully his stock begins to rise to that level again.
I think there is a lot of potential for Drew as a face.
Sheamus made the transition after being one of WWE's more vicious heels for his entire run. Drew is not as dominating, so it could be easier for him to make the switch from being a heel.
And since he's Scottish, he also has the international appeal that WWE always likes. I wish WWE would make the smart move and bring in Roddy Piper to be Drew's manager and mouthpiece.
The future is unknown for McIntyre, but I am sure WWE would not go to the trouble of making his losing streak so public unless they had a long-term plan in place for the result.
What do you think, is Drew McIntyre on his way to turning into a baby face?
What would you think if he did?
