Senior Bowl 2012: Offensive Playmakers That Will Steal the Show
The 2012 Senior Bowl features talented players on both sides of the ball, but as with every game, there will be a few offensive playmakers who truly stand out.
Since it's the final game these players get to impress NFL scouts, everyone will step it up a notch to put their skills on full display. Expect the offense to shine bright, with a few players dominating more than others.
This will create a great matchup against some of the nation's best prospects, and you won't want to miss it. Check here for television info, as well as rosters and weigh-in results for the 2012 Senior Bowl.
With that said, here are a few playmakers certain to steal the show on Saturday.
Dwight Jones, WR, North Carolina
A borderline first-round pick, Jones knows he has to step up and prove his worth in the 2012 Senior Bowl.
Since a stellar performance will help others realize just who he is, Jones will make sure to own the spotlight when on the field.
Listed at 6'3", 226 pounds, Jones has the NFL frame for a top-notch receiver and he'll elevate his game in front of all the scouts.
North Carolina didn't throw the ball a ton, which is why Jones has to shine on Saturday. He knows how much he needs a great game, and he'll definitely deliver.
Chris Polk, RB, Washington
Playing for the North team, Polk is the top running back of this game. He's a possible first-round draft pick, and exceeding expectations for this game will greatly improve his draft stock.
So many eyes will be on Polk to see if he is worthy enough for the first round, and he will not disappoint during this game.
Polk has the chance to really climb up the draft boards, but only if he is able to make big plays. He's up against some superb defenders on the South team, four of whom are likely to be first-round drat picks.
The former Washington running back will make the most of his opportunities, proving that he belongs in the discussion for a first-round pick.
Chris Rainey, RB, Florida
This speedster may not get a ton of looks on offense because there are five running backs on the South team, but he's still going to make big plays.
Rainey is versatile enough to play other positions on offense and he will also make an impact in the return game.
He checked into the combine at 5'8", 178 pounds, which didn't help his draft stock. However, by making a big impact in the Senior Bowl, Rainey can climb back up draft boards.
Showcasing his speed and ability to make defenders miss, Rainey has to wow the scouts by putting on a great show. Rainey is dangerous in space and he'll make sure he has at least one monster play to catch the eyes of the scouts.
