Royal Rumble 2012: WWE Needs Undertaker and Shawn Michaels as Surprise Entrants

The WWE Royal Rumble is celebrating a historic 25th anniversary this Sunday night in St. Louis.

It would be incredible for both Undertaker and “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels to return to the ring and bless this marquee event.

Their appearance would honor the historical date and make it one of the most talked-about pay-per-views in history.

They are iconic figures in the sport and have always been fan favorites to win it all with their amazing performances during the Rumble.

Shawn Michaels may be the best Royal Rumbler in the history of professional wrestling. He entered the ring 12 times from 1989 to 2010, eliminated a record 41 opponents, made the "Final Four" five times and won twice. He was even screwed out of a victory by outside or illegal opponents on two separate occasions.

Undertaker is definitely up there as well. In 10 appearances from 1991 to 2009, he knocked out 35 opponents and won it all back in 2007 by eliminating HBK.

Just imagine how insane it would be if Michaels came back looking for revenge and entered the 30-man battle royal along with The Lord of Darkness.

Michaels won back-to-back Royal Rumbles in 1995 and 1996 via incredible finishes and cemented his status as a WWE legend.

Does the Sexy Boy have it in him come out of retirement and make one last appearance as a contestant in a marquee event?

Furthermore, will The Demon of Death Valley triumphantly return after leaving on a stretcher following his epic WrestleMania XXVII bout against Triple H?

Every fan of professional wrestling hopes so, and an appearance by both of these world-famous stars would make the 2012 Royal Rumble one of the best events in history.
