Indianapolis Colts: 7 Head Coach Candidates Who Are Better Than Jim Tressel
Last week Thursday, the Indianapolis Star reported that the Colts were expected to interview former Ohio State coach Jim Tressel for their vacant head coaching position.
This confirmed Tony Dungy's assumption on NBC that the Colts were taking a long look at Tressel.
Following his resignation from Ohio State over a scandal, Tressel spent the 2011 season as a game-day consultant for the Colts.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Here is the tweet from the Indianapolis Star confirming the Colts' interest in Tressel:
The chances of hiring Tressel remains low, and one Indianapolis sports broadcaster—WISH-TV's Chris Widlic—said that the Colts won't hire him.
But if they don't take on Tressel—which, for the record, is absolutely the right move—who might the Colts hire?
Here's a list of coaches who would make better head coaches in Indianapolis than Tressel:
Jerry Gray: The Colts interviewed the Titans defensive coordinator on Friday. He's been a defensive assistant in Seattle, Washington and Buffalo.
Chuck Pagano: The Ravens defensive coordinator is interviewing in Indianapolis on Tuesday. In his first season leading Baltimore's defense, Pagano's Ravens finished near the top of the NFL in several defensive categories.
Mike Zimmer: The Bengals defensive coordinator has long been linked to the Colts job. Zimmer has improved Cincinnati's defense in each one of his four seasons.
Brad Childress: NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reported last week that the Colts were interested in talking with Childress about their opening. Although his time in Minnesota ended ugly, he did help turn the Vikings into team worthy of playing in the Super Bowl.
Peter Carmichael: According to the Star, Indianapolis interviewed Saints offensive coordinator last week. While he doesn't call plays for the Saints' record-setting offense, nether did Joe Philbin in Green Bay. Philbin was hired by the Dolphins last week.
Greg Roman: I seem to remember a former 49ers offensive coordinator who worked out well as an NFL head coach. Mike McCarthy ring any bells?
Marty Mornhinweg: The connections with Colts GM Ryan Grigson are obvious from their time in Philadelphia. However, could Grigson ignore Mornhinweg's record from his brief stint in Detroit?
