January Transfer Window: 15 Big EPL Moves Still to Come

Thomas AtzenhofferJun 7, 2018

We are only days away from the transfer deadline, and there are still some big deals to be made.

Honestly, some may not seem like big deals if you are a follower of any of the current Top 7 teams in the EPL. But, if you are a fan of the clubs in the lower half and the relegation zone, any move made could change the course of your season.

The top moves remaining to be made are all still on the bubble as possibilities at the moment and are taking up transfer-speculation spots all over the web.

Roman Pavlyuchenko

The out-of-favor Tottenham striker is still believed to be heading out this winter, but it has yet to happen.

Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow are keen on acquiring him, according to Talksport.

Kevin Davies

Sunderland are plotting a surprise swoop for Bolton's physical frontman and club captain, Kevin Davies, according to the Daily Mirror.

Martin O'Neal looks willing to spend £1.5 million on the player to bring him to the Stadium of Light, as he has yet to agree on a new contract at the Reebok.

Gregory van der Wiel

Talksport is claiming that Chelsea are in the hunt for Ajax Amsterdam's Gregory van der Wiel.

The young Dutchman would be a big boost for the back line of the Blues, with Jose Bosingwa not always in top form on the right side.

Chris Samba

Blackburn Rovers defender Chris Samba has been rumored out all window, and it has still yet to happen.

Recent reports from The Sun have the player pleading that he has done it all for the club and now would like to be allowed to leave.

Pavel Pogrebnyak

5 of 15

The Daily Mirror is claiming that West Bromwich Albion are lining up a second-half loan move for VfB Stuttgart striker Pavel Pogrebnyak.

Roy Hodgson is in need of some more attacking support, as Shane Long and Peter Odemwingie are only capable of so much. And the latter could be on his way out of the Hawthorns altogether.

Giovani Dos Santos

6 of 15

Despite an impressive display at the Copa Amercia last summer, Mexican international Giovani Dos Santos remains an outcast at Tottenham Hotspur.

He is rumored to be headed to Villarreal for £6.5 million by the Daily Mail, but Bolton Wanderers could also plan a late move for him, as they were listed as being in for a possible £8 million move by the Daily Mail as well.

Hugo Rodallega

7 of 15

The Daily Mirror claims that Mark Hughes and Queens Park Rangers are plotting a late raid on Wigan Athletic for the services of striker Hugo Rodallega. However, it could cost Rangers at least £6 million for the player.

Paul Pogba

8 of 15

Chelsea are said to be making a raid on Manchester United for youngster Paul Pogba, according to the Daily Mail.

The player has been itching to leave Old Trafford, and this could be his ticket out if it goes through.

Mounir El Hamdaoui

9 of 15

Everton continue their well-played transfer window under their tinker-master, David Moyes, who is a genius at finding players of value for lower costs.

A move for Ajax attacker Mounir El Hamdaoui looks like the latest that is set to happen for the Blues, as the income from the sale of Diniyar Bilyaletdinov looks already spent once it is officially finalized, according to Talksport.

Peter Odemwingie

10 of 15

West Brom's main attacker, Peter Odemwingie, is wanted by Fulham and several other clubs at the moment. His 15-goal performance last season still has many clubs believing he is ready for a step up.

The Daily Mail reports that the Cottagers are offering Damien Duff, Chris Baird and £3 million for the player, but West Brom have him listed at no less than £8 million, according to the Daily Mirror.

Willian

11 of 15

Chelsea continue their pursuit of Shaktar Donetsk midfielder Willian, but have hit a red-tape snag, according to the Daily Mirror, as they fear he would have an issue getting a work permit for England.

Steven Pienaar

12 of 15

Steven Pienaar left Everton last January to join Tottenham thinking he had left for greener pastures. However, the grass is not always greener on the other side, as he is finding out.

He has been the interest of several clubs, but Queens Park Rangers seem the most serious. The Daily Mail reports they have made an offer of £3 million, but are now being told to double it.

The player is hoping to push through a move in order to return to first-team action.

Carlos Tevez

13 of 15

The saga continues for Carlos Tevez and Manchester City. Out of favor for the better part of last year, and still nothing has been resolved.

The Sun reports that AC Milan are saying that Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012 is the deadline for City to accept their offer, and in most cases, it looks like he will remain an outcast in Manchester until the summer.

Maxi Lopez

14 of 15

Fulham thought they had taken Maxi Lopez to the EPL last week when Metro broke that they had agreed to terms with the player.

Now, however, AC Milan could ruin the day for the London club, as Lopez is being linked to the Rossoneri as the newest striker to be brought in due to the transfer saga over Carlos Tevez, according to FOX News.

Lucas Barrios

15 of 15

Arsenal and Manchester City are reportedly in the hunt to prise Borussia Dortmund striker Lucas Barrios away from the Bundesliga, according to Goal.com.

This could be a major boost for the Gunners if they pull it off, but they are not likely to splash any cash whatsoever.
