NFL Draft 2012: Players Who Need Monster Senior Bowl Performances

Wes ODonnellJun 7, 2018

Every player in Mobile, Ala., wants to have a good week at the Senior Bowl. There are, however, some that need not just good, but monster performances this week.

Whether it to be save slipping draft stock, take full advantage of the opportunity at hand or quell concerns, a monster performance is needed all the same.

Here are five players that need to dominate throughout the week.

Jeff Fuller, WR, Texas A&M

Fuller, once considered a potential first-round pick, had his stock take a huge hit this year despite playing an entire season with Ryan Tannehill under center.

The 6'4" prospect struggled to consistently make plays this season and saw his production drop considerably.

He struggles getting separation and doesn't do much with the ball after the catch.

He'll have to show scouts that he can, in fact, get open consistently and make plays with the football in his hands.

Nick Foles, QB, Arizona

The big cannon-armed QB has to make the most of this opportunity.

Foles, 6'5" and 240 pounds, was a very productive three-year starter at Arizona and has a lot of potential.

With Ryan Tannehill out with injury, Foles has a legitimate chance to elevate his stock to a potential first round pick because of QB needs.

He was accurate in college and showed he can drive the ball down field. This week it will be important for him to show he can do that consistently and effectively against top competition.

Quinton Coples, DT, UNC

The UNC prospect was once considered a potential top-five pick.

That isn't the case anymore, and he is one of the most difficult to peg prospects of the early draft process.

Coples has great size at 6'6" and 285 pounds, and he has a lot of potential. He can play defensive end or defensive tackle but needs to show scouts he can bring it all game.

Far too many times he disappeared or didn't try this year, and he's slipped down the board because of it.

This is a chance to make up for that.

Janoris Jenkins, CB, North Alabama

The former Florida Gator is a fringe first-round prospect who simply needs to show scouts and coaches he hasn't lost any of his ability from playing at a lower level.

He was kicked off the Florida team last spring and will have to answer questions about that throughout this process, but this will be his best opportunity to go up against elite competition.

Jenkins needs to make plays early and often this week.

DeVier Posey, WR, Ohio State

Similar to Jenkins, Posey has to rise up and make the most of this opportunity after missing so much action in 2011.

He's a gifted playmaker with the potential to be a good receiver in the NFL, but the scouts and coaches simply haven't seen enough yet.

He had 12 catches for 162 yards and two touchdowns in his three games this season.
