Super Bowl Predictions 2012: Tom Brady Will Lead the Patriots to Another Title

Ryan PhillipsJun 7, 2018

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots won their fifth AFC Championship since 2001 Sunday, thanks to a 23-20 win over the Baltimore Ravens.

While the seven-time Pro Bowler didn't turn in a great performance, we should all be expecting him to step things up when he gets on the field in Super Bowl XLVI.

New England's offense looked off for the first time in almost three months during the AFC title game, but to be fair, the Pats were facing a fantastic Baltimore defense.

Brady and company gained just 330 yards of total offense against a Ravens' defense that ranked No. 3 in the NFL during the regular season with 288.9 yards allowed per game.

The Patriots also turned the ball over three times, including two interceptions thrown by Brady.

During New England's current 10-game winning streak, Brady has been outstanding, except for his performance Sunday.  Expecting him to falter in two straight games would probably be foolish.

In two weeks, the Patriots will face a New York Giants team that has an outstanding pass rush, but is ranked No. 27 in the NFL in total defense, allowing 376.4 yards per game, and No. 29 against the pass  with 255.1 yards allowed per game.

The G-Men had 48 sacks during the regular season, which ranked No. 3 in the league, and they have added nine more in the postseason.

That said, the Patriots' had 612 pass attempts this season and the offensive line only allowed 32 sacks, which is a remarkably low number.

While Brady certainly won't be comfortable in the pocket against the Giants, expecting him to have another bad outing would be simply ludicrous.

He has a wealth of talent around him, and he should be able to pick apart a leaky Giants' secondary.

Love him or hate him, you have to like Brady's chances of hoisting the Lombardi Trophy for the fourth time at Super Bowl XLVI.
