WWE News: 10 Reasons John Cena's New Aggressive Side Is Great for Him

John Cena is in an interesting spot in his professional wrestling career. While he has climbed to the top of the company, his act has grown stale among many WWE fans.

It was time for a change. So he is going through a gimmick alteration that has caused him to show his aggressive side. 

Here are the reasons why Cena's new aggressive side is the right move for him and the company.

Needed a Change

The WWE fans made it obvious that they were growing tired of John Cena's character. His feuds with CM Punk and the Rock helped make that clear. Both guys pointed out the flaws in Cena's character that sparked most of the fans to shower him with boos.

Throughout the past several weeks, Cena has been called out by "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and Kane. Kane has been trying to get Cena to embrace the hate instead of rising above it.

That seems to be working as Cena brutally assaulted Jack Swagger on Raw.

Fans Will Support It

Kane's instigation led to Cena delivering a brutal beat-down on Jack Swagger before the match even started. 

This act showed a different side of Cena. He skipped his routine entrance and just started attacking Swagger. He showed emotion as anger, rage and intensity fueled his attacks. 

The fans' reaction was the most important thing that came out of Cena's intense attack. For the first time in a while, a majority cheered for Cena. Each time he hit Swagger, the fans seemed to get behind him.

This could show that the more Cena shows his aggressive side, the more the fans will support him. 

It Fits Him Physically

John Cena is a "larger than life" specimen. By just looking at him, you can tell that he is someone you don't want to mess with.

Recently Batista criticized the Miz because he did not look that way. Cena doesn't have that problem. An aggressive and intense character perfectly fits someone with a build like Cena. 

He Plays the Aggressive Character Well

John Cena has had several different gimmicks, including posing as a robot, rapper and marine. 

The best character that Cena is able to play is this aggressive one.

It is not a huge change in his character. But it is believable and could be enough to get back the fan support he lost.

Throwback to Classic Wrestlers

Intensity and aggressiveness are common traits among some of the greatest classic wrestlers of all time. Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Randy Savage, Roddy Piper and Triple H all used intensity to make themselves legends. 

John Cena showing his aggressive side gives fans a throwback feel and could help him get more support from WWE fans.

When John Cena was making his way to the top of the company, his character was aggressive. He showed impressive feats of strength that shocked the crowd. 

His aggressiveness helped make him the most popular wrestler in the company. This return to his former aggressive style may once again make him the company's most popular guy. 

Lead to More Feud's

While John Cena turning heel will open the door for different feuds and different angles on feuds we have already seen, this new aggressive side will also do that.

The feuds involving the happy-go-lucky Cena character were limited. His new aggressive style could put him up against both heels and faces. 

We can see him becoming engaged in another feud with the Miz or CM Punk, and they will have a different feel to them.

Help Fill a Hole on Raw's Current Roster

Raw has been lacking a physically dominating superstar. The show is being led by superstars like CM Punk, Dolph Ziggler, Zack Ryder, Miz and R-Truth. None of these guys are really physically-imposing superstars.

Superstars like Mason Ryan and Brodus Clay are not ready to take on the role of the dominating superstar on Raw, but John Cena is.

Cena's aggressive character will be the dominating force on Raw.

Helps Kane Which in Turn Helps Him

Kane recently returned with his mask back on. The first couple of weeks are crucial in whether the new Kane gimmick will thrive or fail. 

The WWE put Kane in a storyline with John Cena to help alter Cena's character. Whether Cena will change who he has become is one of the most intriguing questions in WWE right now.

Kane being involved and possibly being the one responsible for altering Cena's character will help his new gimmick thrive.

Kane' thriving will make Cena's aggressive angle thrive as well.

Makes the Match with the Rock at WrestleMania 28 More Intriguing

The Rock is going to "bring it" at WrestleMania this year. John Cena's aggressive side will help him match the intensity that the Rock is going to bring.

The Rock has been getting the best of Cena each time he comes back to the WWE. Cena's new aggressive side will not be as accepting of this. 

Their match at WrestleMania is going to need some more steam, and Cena's aggressive side will give it that.

They could match the intensity that Hulk Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior had at WrestleMania 6.
