Rafael Nadal Will Take His Frustrations out on Roger Federer in Semifinal Match
Rafael Nadal will take it to his rival on the court instead of in the media.
Recently, the two rivals have been in a lightweight feud. The feud centers around Federer's perceived lack of action or stance on issues that many players on the ATP Tour consider unfair.
The two were once friendly rivals, but the rivalry took a bitter turn with these recent developments. On the court, both have progressed through the early rounds of the Australian Open without major incident, and if all goes as planned, they will meet in the semi-finals.
When that time comes, Nadal will have his say with his racket.
Nadal has dominated the series, winning 17 of their 26 meetings, though Federer won their last meeting in straight sets. This time will be more like the vast majority of their history, dominated by Nadal.
Nadal seems healthy for the first time in months, and he is motivated by the ascent of Novak Djokovic. Djokovic's historic 2011 season cut Nadal's reign of dominance short. Before Djokovic went on his run, and defeated Rafael Nadal at Wimbledon in 2011, Nadal was the world's top player.
The loss sent Djokovic to the top spot and ended Nadal's seven Grand Slam tournament win streak. In addition to the motivation to get back on top, he also has the opportunity to dish some pain Federer's way.
The two greats have attempted to bury the hatchet, but you have to believe these base-liners may be hitting a few shots harder this time.
In this match-up, Nadal will hit the most winners.
