Giants vs. 49ers Video: Watch Vernon Davis Burn Giants on 73-Yard Touchdown Grab
San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis is an absolute beast, and the New York Giants learned that the hard way—watching him trample down the sideline all the way to the end zone on a beautiful 73-yard touchdown catch.
You'd think that perhaps covering him a little bit tighter would be a point of emphasis for the Giants, as he absolutely burnt their defense on the way to this touchdown.
This is Vernon Davis we are talking about, folks—only one of the premier tight ends in the league.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
You might want to take note of the fact that he's streaking wide open down the sideline.
Just like any of the elite tight ends in the league, he's big enough to push around corners and safeties, and he's far too quick to be covered adequately by linebackers.
He's a consummate mismatch, and that's what makes him so dangerous.
It was just a simple toss down the sideline for quarterback Alex Smith and, to his credit, he threw a dime.
Davis simply outran the Giants defense to get to the ball and after that he continued to make them look silly, outrunning them to the end zone.
This is a tight end we are talking about, mind you.
It would be one thing for a corner and safety to get burnt by a speedy wideout, but getting burnt by a tight end, Davis or not, is just laughable.
Credit to Smith and Davis for making it happen, but I can't help but fault the Giants defense for letting a premier player get so wide open.
From now on, it might be smart to put a hat on No. 85.
