East-West Shrine Game 2012: 4 Players Who Could Be Late-Round Steals
You always want to be weary of players that have big performances at All-Star games and use the regular film as the basis of your evaluation, but these games do give these players a chance to show what they can do against other NFL-bound players.
Now that the East-West shrine game is over, here are four players who have a chance to be great late-round steals.
Dominique Hamilton, DT, Missouri
1 of 4Hamilton really had a nice week, showing that he can be a strong run defender with the skills to develop as a pass-rusher.
At 6'5" and 320 pounds, he is an ideal fit as a five-technique defensive end.
He still has some work to do in getting his pad level low and maintaining technique in his pass-rush, but he has all of the tools to develop into a starter.
Jarius Wright, WR, Arkansas
2 of 4Wright was not necessarily the best player at the practices, but his raw ability is hard to ignore.
He has terrific ability to stretch the field with his speed and take the top off a defense.
His hands and leaping ability leave a little to be desired, but Wright could be a great late-round steal who could develop into a very dangerous receiver.
Tyrone Crawford, DE, Boise State
3 of 4At 6'4", 285 pounds, Crawford has ideal size to be a base defensive end in a 4-3 scheme.
He plays with a lot of power and explosion when rushing the passer.
The team that is willing to take a chance on him in the later rounds may find themselves a starter.
DaJohn Harris, DT, USC
4 of 4Harris can be effective against both the run and the pass with a good first step and ability to use his hands.
He is a bit small, at just 308 pounds, to be a regular starter right away, but with some time, he has the chance to be a starter as a 4-3 defensive tackle.
