Jersey Shore's Snooki Sans Makeup: Can Her Face Sell Boxing?
Snooki made a roar on the Internet on Jan. 18 when she posted a TwitPic of herself with no makeup.
The pic came with a simple message:
""No make up day :) and IDC :)"
"
The "Jersey Shore" star is usually decorated in makeup that tints her skin orange, giving her the famous Jersey trademark look fans and the world know her for.
With the reveal of her appearance without makeup, fans everywhere have rejoiced, and even her harshest critics have sounded off with approval for this natural, yet beautiful turn of events.
If this look signals the beginning of a new chapter in the life of one of reality television's biggest stars, then maybe her latest business ventures into the sport of boxing will be seen in a more positive light.
Before the reveal of Snooki's true face, her views on everything from politics to boxing weren't taken seriously. Many see her only qualification for having an opinion on anything is that she's famous.
Like when the company Google changed from its original name, Backrub, Snooki's (real name: Nicole Polizzi) face sans makeup may be the change needed to help people forget her televised past.
The first boxing event she's promoting under the "Team Snooki" banner is on Jan. 28 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and features the Irish Hyland Brothers.
The Hyland Brothers include 28-year-old, 126-pound undefeated WBF featherweight world champion Patrick Hyland (24-0, 11 KO).
The event being promoted as "The Irish Invasion" will also include 27-year-old super bantamweight, 122-pound Paul Hyman (20-2, 6 KO) and 30-year-old former super featherweight Eddie Hyland (16-1, 6 KO).
Whether the event will be a financial success is unknown at this time, but Snooki's new face is a welcome move in the right direction in her transition from reality star to boxing entrepreneur.
