Georgia Football Recruiting: 5 Things Missing from the Bulldogs' 2012 Class

Brian JonesJun 2, 2018

It looks like the Bulldogs will have another solid recruiting class.

With players such as Blake Tibbs, Keith Marshall and John Theus committed, the Bulldogs are looking like they have another dream team of recruits.

But they are not done yet because they still need to address some needs for the future. The Bulldogs have a good group returning for the 2012 season, but it will be a different story in 2013.

Here's five things missing from the 2012 recruiting class so far.

Inside Linebacker

1 of 5

The top three inside linebackers, Alec Ogletree, Christian Robinson and Michael Gilliard will be back next season. But it would be nice for the Bulldogs to find a couple more inside linebackers that could potentially play alongside Armarlo Herrera.

The Bulldogs offered Dillon Lee and Keith Brown, but the players have committed to Alabama and Louisville respectively. The Bulldogs are hoping they can nab Richie Brown, but he doesn't have the Bulldogs high on his list.

Outside Linebacker

2 of 5

Jarvis Jones and Cornelius Washington will not be back after the 2012 season. So the Bulldogs will need to add more depth to a strong position.

The four true outside linebackers that were offered scholarships by the Bulldogs have committed to other schools. However, Josh Harvey-Clemson is considered one of the top athletes in the country, and if he decides to play for the Bulldogs, he has the right size to play outside linebacker.

One More Offensive Tackle

3 of 5

The Bulldogs were able to get John Theus, which was huge. But they just need one more tackle to shore up the offensive line for the next few years.

One of the players the Bulldogs are going after is Avery Young who has UGA high on his list. Young, who is from Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., has Georgia, Auburn and Florida as his final three schools.

According to Rivals, the Bulldogs have a 60 percent chance of signing Young next month.

Cornerback

4 of 5

This is one area that the Bulldogs are looking to get some more help.

They were hoping to get Geno Smith from Atlanta, but he committed to Alabama before the 2011 season began. And it doesn't look like they''ll get Yuri Wright who is considered as one of the five best cornerbacks in the country.

They may pull something off right before signing day, but the Bulldogs may have to wait until next year to get a top cornerback recruit.

Safety

5 of 5

Like the cornerback position, the Bulldogs are to get one or two safety recruits to add depth for the 2013 season.'

One of the guys the Bulldogs had on their big board was Chaz Elder but he committed to South Carolina in November.

The only recruit that is left on their big board that has not committed is Trae Elston who is considering playing wide receiver for the upcoming season.
