Ohio State Football Recruiting: Which Commits Will Make Immediate Impact?
Ohio State is putting together another terrific recruiting class in the first season with Urban Meyer at the helm. While most of the players brought in will only serve as depth during their first season in Columbus, a couple commits will be expected to make an impact right away.
Here are three potential stars that should make Buckeyes fans proud during their freshman seasons.
Noah Spence
Spence was one of the most highly touted prospects in the entire nation. He's an athletic freak that will be asked to rush the passer with ruthless abandon, and he shouldn't have much problem doing it, considering his supreme skill coming out of high school.
It's clear the Buckeyes made a concerted effort to bring in talent along the defensive line, which has been a troublesome area for a while now. But, starting with Spence, those concerns should become a thing of the past before much longer.
Adolphus Washington
Another elite defensive end who will be gracing the campus of Ohio State. Like Spence, Washington will be expected to immediately become part of the defensive line rotation in hopes of returning the Buckeyes to the top of the Big Ten.
The combination of Spence and Washington is going to be a tandem that quarterbacks have nightmares about for the next couple years. The pair's combination of speed and size will make them virtually unblockable for most college-level tackles.
Bri'onte Dunn
One of the biggest problems for Ohio State's offense was finding a consistent running back to take some pressure off Braxton Miller. The team's committee approach led to disappointing results, which is why Dunn was brought in.
The Ohio native should get some carries right out of the gate to see if he's the player who can fix the problem. Meyer will spend the next couple months implementing his system, which should be a perfect fit to make Miller and Dunn a dominant force in the coming seasons.
