NBA Rumors: Will Stephen Curry Be in the Lineup on Tuesday Night?

Timothy RappJun 5, 2018

Whether Stephen Curry will be in the lineup on Tuesday night for the Golden State Warriors all depends on how Curry feels in practice today, as Yahoo's Marc J. Spears reported on Twitter.

But it brings up another question: Should Stephen Curry be in the lineup on Tuesday night?

After suffering yet another ankle sprain against the San Antonio Spursaccording to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, that's the "third sprain in a 16-day span and no less than the seventh he's had in the ankle in the last 15 months"—Curry should probably slow play his return to action.

For one, he's too important a presence on the court for the Warriors to rush back before the ankle heels. If he isn't unquestionably 100 percent, neither he nor the team should risk another injury.

"

"The last time I sprained it I tried to come back and play too early," said Curry, who re-sprained the ankle during the preseason and then again in the regular season. "That negated a lot of the steps we had taken."

"

But perhaps more importantly for Golden State, if the team really is as interested in landing Dwight Howard in a trade as has been reported (unlikely as that seems), a package centered around a constantly hobbled Curry won't look all that appealing to the Orlando Magic.

So if you aren't feeling strong and extremely confident in that ankle, Curry, take a few more days off.

Rushing back too early is a lose-lose for everyone involved.
