Australian Open 2012 Schedule: Jan. 16 TV Schedule, Matches and Bracket Guide
The Australian Open kicks off tomorrow morning and will showcase a number of stars that will be competing for the first major of the year.
This is the 100th anniversary of the men’s tournament down in Melbourne, and the winner is set to receive a specially made one-off medallion.
Tournament director Craig Tiley is quite excited about the event.
"“We are really looking forward to presenting the winner of the 100th Australian Open men’s singles championships winner with the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup and a specially struck commemorative medal,” Tiley said.
"
“Tennis has a rich history, nowhere more so than in Australia, and the players respect the traditions and enjoy celebrating the milestones of our great sport.”
It’s going to be an incredible tournament with the likes of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and 2011 champion Novak Djokovic competing for their first Grand Slam title in 2012.
